Real estate agents are more than willingly to aid new homebuyers through this process and understand what kind of investment buying a home can be.

Attempting Part Time While Going Full Time

One of the biggest issues college students face daily is lack of financial room in their budget. Between living expenses, food, textbooks, office materials, equipment needed for projects, car expenses, clothes and tuition alone, it’s no wonder full-time college students consider it a necessity to own a part-time, well-paying job.

But in this economic situation and with the competition of all college students in this area, including Towson University, Johns Hopkins University, Loyola College and Goucher College, finding part-time employment in Towson is quite the challenge. Top options for students in the area include waiting tables, holding desk jobs on-campus and off, baby-sitting, tutoring, fitness instructing, sales associate for clothing/shoe stores, a coffee barista, bank-telling and even dog-walking.

While, some students frequent bad luck with job searching, others maintain up to three current employment opportunities while keeping up with their studies. Finances and how one deals with its pressures is a personal issue varying from person to person, but students should try College Helpers, Snag-a-Job and College Recruiter before giving up!

Erika Shych‘s Mondays are a little more hectic than the typical full time Towson University sophomore. Shych took a chance her spring semester freshman year and pitched the idea of a new show platform to executives at WMJF station. With hard work and dedication, she started a new television program called The Outlook and had much success. Check out her progress this semester and watch episodes and clips from the show!

Towson Women’s Ultimate Frisbee

“Towson Ulitmate has really come a long way in the past few years. We went to one of the bottom teams in our Section and are now threatening for the top spots. We’re a young, hungry team that works extremely hard both on and off the field. With the recruiting, we’ve increased our roster and talent pool every year and look forward to continuing that in the future,” said the Women’s Ultimate Frisbee coach Ryan Vance.

Frisbee is no longer a hobby in the park on a sunny afternoon. This competitive sport is still evolving and athletes are continuing to catch what’s known as the “ultimate bug”. Check out pictures from the end of last year and even the new season here!

Towson Meterology

Towson University is on its way to becoming the first and only school in the state Maryland to offer an undergraduate program for meteorology. Though the University of Maryland offers a graduate program, Penn State and Millersville University are the closest schools with an undergraduate meteorology programs that meet the national standards of forecasting. Welcome to Towson Outlookers

Towson’s student run television station WMJF recently brought a new program to campus. The Outlook airs on Monday evenings at eight p.m. The show’s platform is designed similar to the popular ABC talk show “The View” where student anchors discuss pressing topics on campus, around the local Baltimore community or even across the nation. February Snow

Towson students were surprised how hard the February snowstorm (click here for pictures) hit the area. Looking to keep busy when classes were canceled, some sled on campus and some held random snowball fights, while others stayed in the dorms playing video games and eating together. Campus officials first canceled classes Friday afternoon, in the second weekend of February, and students did not return to the classroom throughout the entire following week.
